Help HCSO find this suspect who allegedly brandished a firearm at a Mckinleyville business
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help to identify the suspect of an attempted armed robbery at a McKinleyville business last week.
On Oct. 23, 2018, at about 1:47 a.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a business on the 1000 block of Murray Road in McKinleyville for the report of an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred.
According to the reporting party, a male suspect entered the business wearing sunglasses and a hood. The suspect approached an employee and asked to purchase cigarettes. The employee requested the suspect first remove the sunglasses and hood in order to purchase the item. The suspect brandished a firearm at the employee and then fled from the store. The suspect did not reportedly steal any items from the business.
Deputies were unable to locate the suspect following a search of the nearby area.
The suspect is described as a white male adult with a dark complexion, in his late 40’s or early 50’s and approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall.
