Chad Smith's jury trial for the alleged molestation of his step daughter is scheduled for November 5.
As indicated by the defense at the last hearing, a motion to continue was filed. That motion will be heard on November 2, the same day as trial assignment.
Considering that Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads also has the John Beideman jury trial scheduled to begin November 5, the possibility that the trial would be continued existed before the defense filed the motion on October 30.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads. Ms. Andrea Sullivan was court appointed to represent Smith.
