Edgardo Tirado-Rangel identified as deceased in Trinidad chainsaw incident
HCSO update:
The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in an industrial accident on April 2, 2018 as 29-year-old Edgardo Tirado-Rangel.
According to witnesses on scene, Tirado-Rangel was clearing brush on a rural property near Trinidad using a chainsaw when the tool kicked back at him. Tirado-Rangel sustained fatal injuries.

On April 2, 2018, at about 10:30 a.m., Humboldt County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a rural property near Trinidad for the report of an industrial accident.
According to witnesses on scene, a 29-year-old male was clearing brush on the property using a chainsaw when the tool kicked back at him. The victim sustained fatal injuries.
Cal/OSHA and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating this incident.
