After six continuances, more taxpayer dollars to evaluate Ewa Misztal

Ewa Misztal will now be evaluated by both Dr. Soper and Dr. Chamberlain. This time, according to PC 1026.

Whether Ewa Misztal is still a danger to the public, whether she was temporarily insane at the time of the crime or whether she should be committed to a State hospital for life are options for Judge Dale Reinholtsen to consider.

The decision has not been made and there have been six continuances for the same hearing.

In February, Misztal  entered a guilty plea to two added counts; voluntary manslaughter as well as child endangerment and abuse.

The agreement was for potential sentence upto 11 years.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is prosecuting the case. Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is representing Misztal.
