Everett Spillard's sentencing continued as defense requests new trial

Everett Spillard's sentencing was scheduled for April 30.

Spillard was found guilty on Counts, 10, 11 and 12. All three counts were oral copulation/sexual penetration with a minor.
Hung jury for rest of the 14 charges in the molestation case.

Deputy Conflict Counsel Mr. David Lee filed a motion for a new trial on April 17.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads did not have a copy of the motion for new trial. The hearing was continued until May 1 so she could review the defense motion and file a response.

Update: on May 1, District Attorney opposed motion for new trial on statutory grounds. Ruling on the motion for new trial and sentencing continued to May 9.
