Six continuances to decide where Ewa Misztal should go after a plea? No wonder jail space is an issue in Humboldt

Sixth continuance for Ewa Misztal, each time with a slightly different twist on the same basic thing.

March 6 continued; March 13 continued, March 29 continued, April 3 continued, April 5 continued, April 19 guess what? Yes, continued.



Here is a novel idea. Stop over using the NGI/declaring doubt  in so many cases. There are cases it is genuinely needed. Have all these evaluations decided and researched before accepting the plea. Stop scheduling continuances every week, only to continue it again.There are only so many court appointed doctors.

Humboldt Superior Court Judges need to start putting their foot down instead of kicking the can down the road.
