HCSO investigating homicide in Orick; 35 year old male victim

At 1 PM, HCSO was looking for a judge to sign a search warrant.  I am guessing it was for this homicide case.

Update: Suspect detained.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide in Orick near Highway 101 and Dryden’s Rd.

The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received the call for service just after 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 for a 35-year-old male stabbing victim. The suspect reportedly fled the scene southbound.

Officers with California State Parks and the California Highway Patrol assisted in the response. State Parks officers performed life-saving efforts on the victim while medical was en route. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.

A CHP officer located and detained the suspect on Hansen St. in Orick.

This incident is still under investigation.
