Have you paid the registration on your vehicle Natalie?

"Hey there-

I’m glad that I found some one else feels the same way about our council people.  Mine is Miss Arroyo.

It first became clear to my girlfriend and me the extent of what she was willing to extend to her constituents when we had a neighborhood watch meeting for our area and it was announced that she was invited but stated she couldn’t attend it and only later found she chose to instead spend that time on something of leisure (verified she was both attending a band practice and roller derby gathering that night- small town/mutual friends)- ironically, it was attended by another council member (who wasn’t voted in for that part of Eureka).

Since then I have learned from her coworkers (unsolicited) at both RCAA and at Coast Guard she has a reputation for “minimal work/maximum exposure”.  I tried to shrug this off as just rumors but once I started hearing critiques from others that also participate in some of her “leisure” activities… same critique as emphasized from her coworkers… a pattern started to form.

Since then (said things were brought to our attention months.years ago), I have noticed her vehicle in town and parked at her residence (which is on my path to downtown) and I have recently noticed an unpaid registration on her vehicle.  This was months ago when I had just paid mine and the idea of “unpaid” colors were more obvious on other’s plates.  I first figured, “there has to be a reason… we all let things slip”.

Months later, it has started to become embarrassing that you and I are expected to follow the rules and elect others to guide  us with rules and opinions but at the same time they choose to ignore the most basic of them.  I wonder at what point this just becomes a public slap in our faces: “Do what I say but not what I do”.

At the very least, I am glad that my developing underlying feelings may be justified in that some one else is noticing a possible hoodwinking.  Thanks’ for your time.

  1. Either she was made aware of this post and acted accordingly or her apathy for following rules is not boundless. It looks like our city council woman is finally street legal again.

    1. Someone who I know personally and is a reader of my blog made her aware of this post and then followed up to tell me her registration was now current.
