Body found in Miranda this weekend by the river?

Been trying all afternoon to find out whether this is an investigation HCSO is looking into or if they even know about this alleged discovery.

I received a tip  that calls were made in the last few days to people in the legal field, including attorneys about this alleged discovery.

Until I hear from HCSO, I won't describe the  condition of the body described in the tip.

Lt. Ken Swithenbank responded on September 27 and said, "haven't heard of one." But, then he sent me an email  with this followup at 8:17 a.m.

" I just realized you might be referring to a subject that was picked up by ambulance near 101 at Sylvandale north of Redway. He later passed. There  seems to be few details. Possibly jumped or fell from vehicle. Autopsy being performed today. "

And then another follow up at 10:36 a.m.

"Apparently that subject is still alive on life support. I was told he was dead. They are waiting for family to arrive from out of state. There is apparently no chance of him surviving however."

On 09/24/2017 at about 1:15 AM, 21 year old Drake Gammell (DOB 11/03/1995) sustained major injuries in an incident on Highway 254 just north of Phillipsville.  Gammell was taken to a local hospital where he was placed on life support. Gammell’s family, who reside outside of California, arrived at the hospital and Gammell was taken off of life support. Gammell succumbed to his injuries yesterday, 09/27/2017. An autopsy was conducted, and the investigation is ongoing to determine cause of death.
