So, Judge Wilson thinks someone with 500 images of child porn, while he worked at HSU, should not be banned from campus?

"The Ramey warrant listed approximately 500 images. The warrant listed HSU as his business address.
I contacted HSU to see if he is still employed there.  According to HR,  "MatthewAaron Steele was employed at HSU through 1/19/2017. He was working with the Sponsored Programs Foundation, an auxiliary of HSU."

The plea deal was for probation but why deny the prosecutor's request to ban Steele from campus? Then again, Judge Wilson thinks Marci Kitchen should be free to travel wherever she pleases and have those travel requests be decided by him, but not in open court.

Steele was represented by private attorney Michael Robinson, who also represented Randy Cook.

Cook plead to child endangerment in a case. The original charges were molesting his own grandaughter. The Cook case was during the time former DA Paul Gallegos was in office. The Cook case was not covered by any other local media.

  2. Wilson is nuts. Maybe he should have his computer searched for child porn? Perhaps conflict of interest here? Let's request another judge for this case!

  5. There's a website where you can look for ratings on judges...and rate a judge yourself:

  6. I just watched the KAEF/KBVU report on this. I don't expect a whole lot from local news regarding quality oversight but how in the name of Sam Hill can you discuss this story and not *once* mention the judge (the antagonist with leverage here)?

Not a single mention of Chris Wilson or his controversial history of rulings from the bench. Chris Wilson is the big picture story here. Max Rodriguez and his bosses dropped the ball on this in a big way.

  7. To be fair, Channel 3 and LOCO did not either. You are correct. Judge Wilson could have rejected the plea, added some jail time and certainly not denied the prosecutor's request. You have to know the history, know the local players, be there consistently and not just on high profile cases. Readers like you are why I enjoy doing this blog. You would have found a details of the Chandler motions and arguments very interesting.

  9. Judges may only keep their position if they show good behavior. This is not good behavior.
