(Bass)
(Brady)
Just because Marks and Burkhart did not formally announce does not mean they did not consider it, test the waters or see if they could get endorsements and financial backers.
One name that has been circulating for a while has recently resurfaced again. Talk of a "well known, experienced conservative" expected to make an announcement in three weeks to run against Supervisor Bass has got people curious.
I reached out to Eureka Councilmember Marian Brady or former Eureka Councilmember Chet Albin to confirm if she was the "experienced conservative" making this announcement. Both of them responded that it wasn't them.
After this post, additional information, about the potential challenger, was that this person is a Veteran and has "experience" with government but no specifics.
I have heard that Brady wants Mayor. The new wards in Eureka will likely cause some chaos.
