Electrical shortage sparks fire at Oberon Grill in Old Town

HBF Battalion Chief Chris Emmons said fire started at the back of Oberon Grill.

According to one of the employees I just spoke with, there was an electrical shortage in one of the outlets and there was visible smoke but the fire was inside wall.

Smoke pouring out of the front of the restaurant. The front of restaurant is fine, except for smoke damage.

HBF Chief Bill Gillespie is telling Roy Kohl and Nick Kohl, owners of the Oberon Grill that the fire started in the back wall.

"This is all new construction , all new wiring," Roy Kohl told me.

"This building is 1860s, but it was all remodeled."

Chief Gillespie told the Kohls to get an electrician to isolate what circuit caused the
fire.

A staff person from Five Eleven just walked across to make sure there isn't a gas leak.

Here is a link to the North Coast News facebook live video and I was there for most of it, assisting news anchor Nazy Javid.
