Arcata and Eureka a total shit hole (Arcata)
Why do you allow and support all the dirty, junkie, drugged vagrants and transients that have taken over your towns? These scumbags were everywhere I visited. Was glad to get out of these shit holes.
Downtown Arcata looked like a third world country. It was filthy, covered in drunken and drugged up vagrants and panhandlers. A complete shit hole. Your City Council must be a bunch of clueless liberals that support this crap.
I hope to never return to Eureka or Arcata.
I can't agree MORE. My solution: House them OR Institutionalize them OR Rehab them (if that's such a thing) OR Jail them OR GIVE THEM A TICKET OUT OF HERE - NO ONE ON THE STREETS - PERIOD.

This is what we get for destroying timber, fishing, and doing nothing to encourage private industry. The green rush has already bottomed out and will continue to go down. California liberals dont get that there is no revenue in social service jobs and growing government bureaucracy.
DeleteI agree. I moved to Texas when I turned 18, and it seems to have become so much worse since I left. People here think I'm exaggerating when I describe the condition of my home town. I'm sad I'll never feel safe about taking my kids back home to visit.
ReplyDeleteIt's this lady ('homeless activist') Betty Chinn, she keeps enabling them and giving them free handouts, free housing, free everything- even after they raided her warehouse, stole from her, and defecated all over her belongings. She even protested clearing out the Devil's Playground (full of stolen items, dangerous junkies, etc- police even found a bunch of dead rats hanging from nooses) because it was their 'constitutional right' to squat there. What a bunch of bullsh*t. They know they get a free ride here, that's probably why we're stuck with all this trash. She needs to be run out of town :/

ReplyDeleteI currently live in Humboldt, however, I live further south but not as south as Garberville (just as bad as Arcata) I don't go to eureka or arcata often anymore because of the huge problem. Law enforcement won't do anything about the tweakers, in fact they try to cater to the homeless and enable them to continue to be homeless junkies, they don't want a hand up they want a hand up, and unfortunately they're taking over these towns, slowly but surly Humboldt is going down.
ReplyDeleteThe Green Rush has already bottomed out? While I agree the Green Rush Industry is not a make or break aspect to our local economy, I know to certain it has not bottomed out. I guess it depends on which aspects you are referring to.
