EPD did not authorize release of arson investigation to public

"On behalf of Captain Stephens, the Eureka Police Department did not authorize the release of the arson investigation police report to the public.  Any questions related to the report should be referred to the City Manager’s office."

I will update if I get a response from Eureka City Manager Greg Sparks or Eureka City Attorney.

    California Government Code 6254(f)(2)(A) prevents the release of this stuff. The City Government probably should have checked on that.

    No need to worry. The information was released to the media by an anonymous source... heard that before? And this wasn't even classified information hahaha! People are worried for no reason at all. Lawmakers aren't worried about leaking information, why would local government?! Lmao
