Brials Nelson McCutcheon victim of alleged death investigation in Pine Hill shooting




This is the shooting that happened this weekend in the 4300 block of Crestview Drive.

Through other sources, the address was identified as 4310 Crestview Drive.

I just spoke with HCSO Lt. Dennis Young. A press release will be out shortly.

Lt. Young said this "is a death that is being investigated right now. We do not know the circumstances."

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 1739 hours, Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office responded to an area on Crestview Drive in Eureka regarding the report of a suspicious circumstance.

On arrival, Deputies discovered that 41 year old Brials Nelson McCutcheon was in immediate need of medical attention. McCutcheon was transported by medical staff to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased by attending hospital staff.


McCutcheon's family has been notified of his death and the investigation is ongoing. If anyone has information that may be pertinent to the investigation, please phone Detective Mark Peterson at 268-3663 or Detective Sergeant Diana Freese at 268-3639.

  1. Brials was like a son to me. He and my son grew up together in Fieldbrook. It is beyond my greatest imagination that this is how he would leave this earth. May he rest in peace and whom ever did this to him may he rot in the depths of hell. I will miss Brials wonderful smile and large cuddly hugs until the end of my time here. I will see him on the other side for sure.
