HCSO investigating suspicious death in Blue Lake

On Sept. 11, 2021, at about 11:40 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center received a call regarding a deceased male located near a trail off of Hatchery Road in Blue Lake.

Dilley surrendered peacefully and is in custody. Let's hope a Humboldt Superior Court Judge does not release him on the streets for public safety.

On 09-04-2021 at about 1:30 AM, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center began receiving calls for service concerning a reported assault and possible kidnapping in an unknown area of Covelo, California.

6 million ballots accepted by election officials for Newsom recall

 

According to the SF Gate, over 6 million ballots have been accepted by election officials for the election to recall California Gavin Newsom. Every registered voter received a ballot in the mail.

SF Gate obtained figures from the California Secretary of State's Office dated Sept. 7.  A total of 22,357,300 ballots have been distributed to voters and 6,330,575 have been returned, good for 28.3% turnout."

On 08-25-2021 Mendocino County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to contact the reporting party of a suspected sexual abuse of a 12 year-old minor.  Upon learning the circumstances of the investigation, Mendocino County Sheriff's Office Detectives were dispatched to conduct further investigations.

California could soon be the first state to outlaw “stealthing,” which is removing a condom without permission during intercourse.

The criminal code would not change but the victim could file a civil lawsuit.

California currently does not distinguish between spousal rape and the rape of a non-spouse. California legislators are taking steps to make changes to criminal law that will impact sentencing.

Sexual assault, murder suspect, convicted felon, parolee shows the disaster of zero bail policy

The California District Attorneys Association (CDAA) expressed outrage today that the suspect accused of the horrific sexual assault and brutal murder of a 61-year-old Sacramento woman on September 3, 3021, was released from prison following felony convictions in 2017 and 2018 for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery, committed more crimes in June, and then was released again because of “zero bail” policies.
