The first post I did on Chris Roger's candidacy in November 2023. It includes other candidates running for Assemblymember, District 2. The press release today is about new endorsements.

Press Release:

The momentum behind Chris Rogers' campaign for the AD-02 Assembly seat continues to build as his campaign added a series of key endorsements from environmental, political, and local leaders. Speaking at a forum hosted by the Willits Environmental Center, Rogers proudly announced the addition of the new endorsements which include The Sierra Club, Sonoma County Conservation Action, and Mendocino County Supervisor John Haschak.

“Our community has felt the sting of climate change - in rising temperatures and catastrophic wildfires,” said Rogers. “The organizations and local leaders joining our campaign today know that the full magnitude of our effort to combat climate change and to preserve our environment will require more than most candidates can offer. It will require leaders who actually understand environmental issues, who have the courage to stand up to big oil and PG&E, and who know how to roll up their sleeves and get things done for the next generation.”

In a significant show of continuing local support, Mendocino County Supervisor John Haschak (Willits) joined fellow Supervisors Glenn McGourty and Dan Gjerde to endorse Rogers, marking the second county where a majority of Supervisors endorsed Rogers.

"Chris Rogers has a deep understanding of our communities, cultivated through his years working closely with Senator McGuire and a lifetime of experience on the North Coast," remarked Haschak. “As our next Assemblymember, Chris will prioritize crucial issues for the people here - including economic revitalization, healthcare access, and fire insurance affordability. I’m proud to endorse Chris Rogers for Assembly."
