The delay in opening bathrooms has already been delayed, at least twice. This was supposed to be completed last year. I have spoken to Humboldt County CAO Project Manager twice. It is now 2024 and the delay in opening bathrooms is because soap dispensers need to be installed. Several restrooms are closed because first the County was incompetent and did not order tiles and parts required. Then instead of letting the contractors install the soap dispensers, they wanted to use a County worker. That worker has been sick for weeks. Now after spending what I was told $60,000 on tiles, the County is getting ready to rip out all this flooring because people are getting vertigo.
They cannot even complete one project and they have ripped out flooring in the DA's office, closed those bathrooms and are getting ready to do the same on the 2nd floor where the courts are located.
