Security National now owns the parking lot by City Hall

(Photo I took in April 2023)

I reported in June 2023 that parking lot by City Hall was in escrow with Security National. I was told that SN now owns the parking lot and the fence has been removed.

I was also the first one to report in April 2023 on the Eureka City Hall parking lot and Pierson's selling the parking lot to Redwood Capital putting up a fence.

The parcel is still listed under the ownership of Pierson's Properties LLC according to the Assessor's office records with a 2022 date.

A deed would have to be filed with the Recorder's office to transfer the property. I will go check out the document when I have more time in the next few days but the Recorders office confirmed there is a 2023 deed between RCB and SN which I can view at the public records kiosk. I did check the records myself.

I emailed Redwood Capital's John Dalby and Security National's Tim Callison and Kenny Carswell to see if I can get an answer directly from the parties involved.

1. Who currently owns the parking lot?

2. Was a deed filed when the property was transferred to Redwood Capital and if SN owns it now, same question.

3. If SN owns it, what are the plans for the parking lot?

Mr. Dalby responded promptly. "John, The only information I can provide is that Redwood Capital Bank does not own the K Street Lot."

SN was asked to respond. They chose not to and that is their choice.

City of Eureka Manager Miles Slattery also confirmed Security National did buy the 5th and K parking lot next to City Hall. "They bought it from Redwood Capital Bank after our property exchange with Pierson."

I have added what I heard below on 1/17/24.

I heard this  from two different sources and one is someone "in the know."

"Arkley told one person that he didn't know what he wanted from that parking lot except he wanted it to be a big middle finger to City Hall. "

I heard this just from one of those two sources.

"I heard that Arkley also tried to "trade" that parking lot for the 5th and D lot—liek the Pierson swap—but that Dishgamu was not interested in the swap."
