"It is sad when people think they are above the law. I noticed in this morning's bookings 1-7-24 that a second DUI within a year for someone working in law enforcement. Andrea Hopkinson arrested again by Fortuna PD for DUI. She is a supervising juvenile correction officer at the juvenile hall. I am assuming it is the same person who was arrested last year. 42 year old Andrea Hopkinson was arrested early a.m. this morning by Fortuna Police Department for VC 23152 (a) DUI and VC 23152 (b), driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher. She was released on O.R
I received this anonymous tip a few minutes ago. I tried to verify as much information as I could today from the email.
There is a Andrea Hopkinson who is a Humboldt County juvenile corrections officer. Social media photos do not always match booking photos so I have no way of verifying if this is the same person unless readers who may recognize this person contact me.
There is a Andrea Hopkinson with a 2021 case and a conviction for a DUI.
As for a second DUI, I cannot check or verify if it is for the same person in the booking photo in this post because e court does not have certain information listed and until a complaint is filed, I will not know if the two DUIs are connected. These days it can take up to 10 days to get a booking photo because there is no HCSO PIO and staff are doing double duty. In the past, I could have emailed HCSO PIO.
