How can you have a conflict of interest when your business has a suspended license?

In my very first post about Brian Roberts running against Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell, I included this information. That post was on Nov 16, 2023. The date is important because I posted the information above before my December 11 2023 post that Ms. Jeana McClendon was the second challenger running against the incumbent. On Dec 14, 2023, I received an email from Roberts and did a post with his statement. In that statement, Roberts said, "My commitment is 100% as I will shutter my Cannabis cultivation for four years while in office.  I will be present at every meeting and not have any conflict of interest regarding cannabis."

I had to remind him of that this month as well as call him on a few things in my January 17 post. Credibility and qualifications matter Brian. How  can you have a conflict of interest when your business has a suspended license? Brian, in your statement, you said, "I just want to inform the Humboldt County residents that they have choices in this upcoming election."

You are correct about that Brian. Voters do have a choice to make. They have a choice between the incumbent and Ms. McClendon. I have been calling out the incumbent in the Second District for months, years before Ms. McClendon or you decided to run this election. The other two candidates do operate existing businesses. Why should voters entrust you to run the finances of this County or expect you to rescue the cannabis industry when your record says otherwise? I don't expect you to answer my question just like you ignored me earlier this month and instead got snippy.
