The Widmark brothers, Brandon and Jesse, have two 2023 cases as co-defendants. They were held to answer to charges in both cases. Next court date for those two cases is 2/1.Brandon has a 2022 assault case. That preliminary hearing was scheduled for today.
I reported on April 20 2023, the day after the Widmark brothers were pursued by law enforcement all over Eureka, that according to his Facebook profile, Brandon is in a relationship with a third woman, the daughter of the victim in his assault case. I don't know if that is still the case.
The DA's office wanted Widmark to be remanded into custody in the 2022 assault case but that request was denied by the Court. Widmark failed to appear for his preliminary hearing in that case and a bench warrant was issued. It was after that he picked up the two 2023 cases.

The alleged victim in the assault case has passed away. Cause of death is "decedent shot self with .22 caliber rifle." A death certificate from June 2023 has been provided to the DA. Why is the DA still pursuing this assault case?
After hearing update: Case was dismissed by the People today. Court minutes confirm victim is deceased.
