Gordon Clatworthy sent this to me and the Times Standard. I am posting his email, his allegations, my email to Rex, Heidi and Gregg (except for one line about deadline for a response)
If Rex choses not to respond to me but go to his other preferred media or just respond to TS; his actions will speak and reiterate what I have been saying. I doubt I will hear from Gregg since he is a part of the good ole boy crowd.
I have made my feelings about Rex abundantly clear but I have also written about how I feel about Gordon. Initially, I felt differently about Gordon. "Disappointed Dem" and some other comments online sum up how I feel.
If Gordon wants to align himself with attention seeking Kent Sawatzky who calls himself"agent of chaos", that is one of Gordon's many poor choices. Kent throws out half baked tips with no evidence and thinks media should do leg work for his personal vendettas and tantrum du jour against whatever Supervisor or County employee he dislikes at the moment.
Attacking Rex and "I am not Rex" is Gordon's entire campaign. Gordon's lack of follow up is another major issue. He says a lot of words but has not proved that he has a clue about being a Supervisor.
I have called out Rex many times but Gordon's interpretation is not enough for me to waste time on what may or may not be a news story. Gordon needs to provide evidence there has been an actual violation and do his own legwork and realize that media does not work for his campaign. At least, I don't operate that way. I don't like bring used by a candidate who has failed miserably to prove that he should be the one to replace Rex.
While endorsements and money don't win an election, if you can't even raise money or update your website with the one default endorsement you got from HCDCC because you are the only democrat and they chose you based on that criteria alone, then what does that say about your campaign as a candidate? I checked Gordon's website at 11:17 a.m. today.
What will happen in the First District who knows because the biggest factor is voters. Who will vote won't be known until after the election. As much as I want to see Rex gone, at this point, short of some scandal or major expose, most likely Rex will be re-elected. This isn't my opinion, it is privately shared by many dems, progressive who know how politics and campaigns work, how to win them and have been elected.
If Rex is not elected to another term, it will not be because Gordon or Gerald McGuire ran a campaign or are qualified but because there were more anti Rex voters including people screwed over by Rex and the good ole boys.
