I have already covered Ms. April Van Dyke when she was Humboldt Deputy Conflict Counsel as well as several posts on her candidacy and being the only one brave enough to challenge incumbent Humboldt Judge Gregory Kreis.
While I have already covered some of what Ms. Van Dyke said in her speech today about not being an insider and the contrast between her and the incumbent, you should watch her kick off speech today. She repeated "I am not an insider" a few times and it was very effective. She is a judge Humboldt County can be proud off. She addressed her experience, what led her to be a lawyer and humble beginnings.
I am aware of the whisperings, misinformation, tactics being circulated by her opponent and those who enable him.
Ms. Van Dyke addressed them head on. If you want a judge who will treat all fairly, according to the law and not special deals for the Humboldt Connected, you owe it to yourself to meet her, do your research and think for yourself.
For those of you who trust me which I have earned, who do you believe? Someone who has sacrificed everything to be there for you for the past 20 years, brought you information and court coverage that no one else does despite constant challenges and efforts to shut me down, harassment and intimidation. Or Kreis who did a backroom deal and then got Judge Christopher Wilson to sentence Ray Christie at a hearing which was supposed to be in a closed courtroom hearing with no notice to the media or the public. Do you think his good ole boy endorsers Rex Bohn and Billy Honsal and who get joke of plea deals for their clients like Rick Littlefield and Brett Watson that you dont get because your attorney is not Kreis' lawyer and buddy have your best interests in mind? These plea deals are court records that you can check for yourself. Where do the good ole boys advertise?
