65 year old arrested on Ramey warrant for several molestation charges involving a minor

 

65 year old Laverne Eugene Dobereiner was arrested by Rio Dell Police Department yesterday on a Ramey warrant for PC 288(a) lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, PC 288.7(b) oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child who is 10 years or younger, PC 647.6(a)(2) annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age, PC 287(c)(1) oral copulation with a minor under 14, PC 288.5(a) continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. Bail at booking is $750,000. 

Dobereiner has 4 closed cases in Humboldt Superipr Court. Three traffic cases; one contract/collections case.

1/9: Dobereiner was arraigned on 1/9/24. Judge Lawrence Killoran changed his bail to no status. Public Defender's office was appointed to represent him. Preliminary hearing is on 1/22/24. 

Dobereiner is charged with 10 felonies which are 7 counts of PC 288.7 (b) oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child who is 10 years or younger, one count of PC 288 (a) lewd or lascivious acts with a minor,  one count of PC 287 (c) (1) oral copulation with a minor under 14 and one count of PC 287 (c) (2) (b) forcible oral Oral copulation with a child under 14 years of age.

Count 1: Dobereiner allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the minor in Scotia.

Count 2: Dobereiner allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the minor in Rio Dell.

Count 3: Dobereiner allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the minor in Rio Dell.

Count 4: Dobereiner allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the minor in Rio Dell.

Count 5: Dobereiner allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the minor in Rio Dell.

Count 6: Dobereiner allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the minor at Shivley shooting range.

Count 7: Dobereiner allegedly made victim who  was in 2nd or 3rd grade orally copulate him in Rio Dell.

Count 8: Alleged lewd act on Jane Doe at Shively shooting range after it had closed.

Count 9: Dobereiner allegedly made Jane Doe orally copulate him while he sat in the computer chair in his bedroom.

Count 10: Alleged forcible oral copulation with Jane Doe in her bedroom after her 12th birthday.

1/18: Defense filed motion to continue preliminary hearing. That motion was granted. 1/22 date was vacated. Setting of preliminary hearing is on 2/29.

2/29: Preliminary hearing scheduled for 4/29.

4/29: Preliminary hearing continued defense for possible resolution. Setting of preliminary hearing on 5/14.
