Resolves 3 cases last months, fails to show up for sentencing today

 

Last month, Megan Smith resolved three open cases before the preliminary hearing in her 2022 drug case. Smith has 22 cases in the Humboldt Superior Court system.

Smith failed to show up for sentencing today. A bench warrant was issued by Judge Kaleb Cockrum for $35,000.

6/13: Arrested by EPD on the bench warrant and booked into custody. Arraigned on 6/14;  bail $45,000. OR bail hearing on 6/16. Sentencing on 7/7.

6/16: Judge Steven Steward denied release.

7/7: Two years probation with custody credits for time served.

8/17: Arrested on a bench warrant by CHP for violation of probation/parole.
