Today, may or may not conclude the ongoing drama being aired in court between Arcata elected officials

 

I knew it would not conclude today and it did not.

Arcata City Manager Karen Diemer started her testimony on day 1 of jury trial in the restraining order case filed against Brett Watson by the City of Arcata in 2022. Two of the 35 exhibits from the City of Arcata are my articles. Day 2 of the court trial has been continued to March 8 in this case.

Brett Watson had two hearings scheduled today.  One is his parole revocation hearing this morning for his 2021 case. That hearing was continued to April 11.

The request to make the restraining order had been continued twice. Watson's 2021 case had been dismissed. Then a parole violation was filed. What happens in one case impacts the other.

The details are in this case have been covered several times on this blog. This includes court documents. I already reported on January 23 that Watson filed declaration about not having firearms. 

This should have already been resolved by now privately by the parties and their attorneys instead we are continuing airing drama between City of Arcata elected officials in court.
