Bridgeville attempted murder suspect was arrested last year for domestic violence and false imprisonment

I reported previously on Clayton Miller. He was arrested in Hydesville in 2022 when he was arrested for domestic violence and false imprisonment and also arrested in Hydesville in 2020 on multiple warrants. HCSO has been looking for him since yesterday on charges for attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

HCSO Press Release:

On Feb. 26, 2023, at about 1:19 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a property on the 33,000 block of Highway 36 near Bridgeville for the report of an attempted murder.

Deputies arrived at the property and contacted a 43-year-old male victim. The victim told deputies that he had exited a residence on the property to retrieve firewood when he was confronted by an acquaintance, 34-year-old Clayton Lloyd Miller. According to the victim, Miller reportedly yelled at the victim, then fired a weapon towards him. The victim retreated inside the residence and was not injured as a result of this incident. Miller reportedly fled prior to deputy arrival.

Deputies were unable to locate Miller in the area and he remains outstanding at this time.

Clayton Miller is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, 190 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be in possession of a firearm. Miller is wanted on charges of attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. If you see Miller do not approach but call 9-1-1 immediately.
