Redwood Teen Challenge Club 5:17 can reopen and I hope they do

(Pastor Tom Throssel)

Since certain faith based social services are considered essential, I inquired about Redwood Teen Challenge and if Club 5:17 was allowed to reopen.

"Since Redwood Teen Challenge serves people experiencing homelessness and substance use disorders, they would be considered essential and can run their program as long as they can maintain proper facial covering, social distancing and hygiene practices. They can also open their coffee shop for curbside, pickup or delivery only if, again, they can maintain the proper social distancing, facial coverings and hygiene practices."

Thank you to Christine Messinger of the County Joint Information Center for her prompt response to getting an answer my question.

Club 5:17 is more than a place to get coffee. It provides funds for an organization that is self supported by hard work. It is for many like me, a place of safety, faith and fellowship. Even the brief time doing pickup will make a big difference right now.

See post below about Governor Gavin Newsom's clarification on the statewide stay at home order.
