Press Release:
As Humboldt County moves further into Phase 2 of the state’s plan to reopen services, the County of Humboldt is scheduled to re-open its facilities to the public beginning Monday, May 18. As more parts of the local economy begin to reopen, the county recognizes that there will be an increase in demand for services, some of which must be delivered in person.
The county has made many changes to its services and facilities since closing to the public in March. At many facilities there are now plexiglass barriers at service counters, visible marking on floors to encourage physical distancing, additional hand sanitizer available to the public, increased cleaning of frequently touched surfaces, and additional signage providing directions for safe behavior, among other practices.
When members of the community visit county facilities, they will be required to:
Wear a facial covering
Maintain to the maximum extent feasible, 6 feet between themselves and others
Cover coughs and sneezes
Use designated spaces and equipment
Leave the premises if they are sick
In addition, members of the public are encouraged to contact departments and make appointments in order to limit the amount of time spent at county buildings. Some departments are offering on-line appointments, and others should be contacted by phone. You can find information to contact departments on the county website.
