After her usual theatrics via the jail video conferencing room, Adrianne Murphy finally entered a plea and admitted she violated probation. This after she delayed other court cases being called and did her usual version of let's do court by my rules.
Murphy is originally from Arizona. According to her attorney, Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke, she has family and friends in Trinidad she can stay with and may return to her employment at Taco Bell.
The DA agreed not to file new charges. Murphy had to admit to a 90 day sentence with one day suspended and the allegations in the petition. These included failure to report, drug charges and drunk in public.
While the resolution was being stated on record, Murphy interrupted trying to negotiate. First she was hung up about the one day suspended. Then she claimed, " I have no drug charges." This was followed by "what charges?" Then she tried her previous stunt and said, " I am going to admit a few things but not the drunk in public." During the plea she kept arguing about pleading no contest or not guilty and did this with every charge she admitted.
When she saw she could not strongarm Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm and Judge Kaleb Cockrum, she finally took the offer to resolve her case. It was deal or no deal. She had to admit to the agreed stipulation or take her chance at the hearing.
Murphy is reinstated on probation, sentenced to.90 days with one day suspended. She had 23 actual days in custody and 23 4019 credits.
4/6/20 update: Murphy was released from custody to a program.
