Despite efforts to house people, the number of homeless people counted across Los Angeles County jumped 12%, almost 59,000 people compated to last year.
Los Angeles County increase in homeless reflect numbers across California, according to KTLA.
Half the people cited economic hardship; three quarters are living outdoors. Lack of affordable housing and wages for those who are are considered low income have not kept up with the rising cost of living.
