Bail reduced for Sean Allman, conditions placed if he is released from custody and more details about why he was arrested

Mr. Ben Okin made a special appearance with Sean Allman this afternoon. He has not been retained by the family yet.

Mr. Okin requested bail be set per schedule at $50,000. He told Judge Kelly Neel that Allman had no prior record.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm requested bail be set at $75,000.

Allman allegedly sent videos in a group text to a youth group. The church group will be leaving Humboldt this month. Ms. Timm told Judge Neel that in addition to the incident of the threats, "the defendant has discussed committing suicide on campus" and had a notebook which contained "disturbing information."

After hearing from both attorneys, Judge Kelly Neel set the bail at $50,000. Bail at booking was $1 million.

Two men and two women were in court. One was Allman's mother and one of the men was his brother. One woman who spoke with Mr. Okin before court, was wearing a RN badge.

They just walked out of the Courthouse and as they passed by me, one of the men said,"That is John Chiv. He has a blog."

They are standing out in front of the 5th street entrance right now. Still there at 2:22. Twice in the court, the group had to be shushed by the bailiff. Allman was living with his grandmother when he sent the alleged threats.

When asked by Judge Neel, Mr. Okin said Allman has no firearms. His family stated they did not have any either.

Allman is charged with Count 1 Terrorizing or Obstructing Exercise of Religion. Count 2 is Criminal Threats. Both counts pertain to the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California.

The second count is a strike offense. Penalty for both cases 3 years in custody for each count.

Intervention is on June 27. Preliminary hearing is July 1. Allman did not waive time. Judge Neel ordered Allman to be present for both court dates.

If Allman posts bail, he is subject to search and seizure with or without a warrant; has to stay away 1,000 yards from HSU; have no contact with any members of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California; he has to submit any electronics including his cell phone to search and seizure with or without a warrant and he cannot possess any firearms.
