Five officers at 2nd and C, have detained a transient



Readers said around 1:10 EPD detained an African American male near 2nd and C street.  There were five officers  on scene. Some locals said he is a transient.

EPD Old Town Officer Brian Ross said he did not know if the man was a transient. There was a warrant out for him and the man was arrested.

Update: EPD PIO Brittany Powell said that Old Town Officer Brian Ross located a male with a warrant.  Xandux Edgington was arrested on the bench warrant and transported to HCCP without incident. " According to her 2 units were on scene but it is possible more officers may have shown up but did not radio in.

Another reader who was at Chapala's at the time "the incident with Xandux Edgington took place"  said that he was polite and was on the phone. He moved to the other side of the half-wall near the kitchen. She said he didn't seem like a transient, more like a "gang banger."

A google search shows addresses in Eureka for  Edgington.
