Jury selection started this morning in alleged molestor Chad Smith's case. Individual jurors are being questioned by Judge Christopher Wilson.
Smith is charged with 16 counts. 11 counts pertain to his former stepdaughter, Jane Doe 1. Count 12 to Jane Doe 2 and 4 counts are violating a protective order.
By 2:20 twelve jurors were sworn in; 9 men and 3 women. By 2:55 alternates were picked; one man and two women. Opening statements expected to start 9:30 Wednesday.
One of the questions asked by the defense was how jurors felt about a defendant not testifying.
A mistrial was declared in his first jury trial on February 6, 2018.
