My favorite local dispatchers got a shout out at tonight

"Under the Mayor’s announcements at tonight’s Eureka City Council meeting, Council read a proclamation honoring the Eureka Police Department’s awesome Communications dispatchers for National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.

Here’s a tidbit not everyone knows about:  EPD’s Communications Center dispatchers are the only ones in our region that dispatch all three disciplines - police, fire and medical.  This requires a substantially higher level of training and expertise for our dispatchers who are truly without peer in Humboldt County (and I don’t say that lightly as Humboldt County agencies have some great dispatchers).  They are simply the best and we are very proud of them.  "
