LOCO's John Ross Ferrera who is a HSU alum was mostly fair about these two videos asking people to see if they could relate.
Ferrera's only dig was describing the third video (posted on LOCO) as more open minded. I thought the third video was a sterotypical ultra left view of Humboldt with the standard bullet points. Capitalism bad; socialism good.
With the exception of Arcatan, so far, LOCO's handful of regular Toiletdome dwellers are throwing a fit because they cannot deal with the truth.
This is how many people in Humboldt and most people outside Humbolt see this place; as a joke. The anti outsider mentality reacting when truthful criticism is offered is typical in Humboldt.
It is not just HSU but Humboldt in general that lures people here without providing honest information of the challenges here.
This is a very beautiful place with nature's abundance with a lot of wonderful people but it is the decades of no growth, incestuous cliquey mentality that overshadows the positive and holds Humboldt back from full potential.
Funny and accurate!
ReplyDeleteCry baby had to walk more than a block to class, the horror. Shopped at Target for 2 he's ?? Really?? There are 23 other campuses to choose from pick one and move on kid, Life is hard, get used to it.
ReplyDeleteThe humor in that was beyond some. He needed 2 things. But after inviting his gf to come with him, his quick 15 minute outing turned into a typical 2 hour shopping excursion complete with several shopping bags to have to carry home. Never take your gf shopping unless you plan on spending the day and buying things she thinks you might some day want or need. He is a good sport.
DeleteThe students come here due to easy pot availability and the liberal attitude of "don't worry-smoke the pot" and things will get better. The lesbians/queers love it here. Its summer camp every day and they can parade around on campus/off campus and get away with it. They all contribute to the demise of our culture and society. Trash .
ReplyDeleteBeing neither left or right, I found his reviews of Humboldt refreshingly humorous and honest. He, too, was neither left nor right, just honest.
