Chad Smith changes mind about time waiver; jury trial set for December 4
Trial setting for Chad Smith was scheduled this morning. He is charged with sexually abusing his own step daughter and one of his step daughter's friend.
Smith changed his mind and withdrew his time waiver today.
Since Ms. Jennifer Dixon left the Public Defender's office and is now working for a private firm; Public Defender David Marcus appeared in court today on Smith's case.
Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case.
Based on court schedules and availability for both attorneys, trial confirmation is set for November 15. Jury trial is December 4.
Time estimate is five weeks, including jury selection.
Smith is the owner of Humboldt Long board and former owner of Surfside Burger Shack.

What a sick man. I knew there was something very off with him, but it wss hard to pinpoint because he was stoned ALL the tome!
