The "protestors" attacked a registered Democrat. They assumed he was a Republican. See why they called him Republican. Great video and article.
Excerpt 1:
"Though the College Republicans initially offered to speak to the protesters, those demonstrating refused to leave and demanded instead the Republicans end their meeting. One person in attendance, a Democrat, stood up, however, and defended his right-leaning fellow students."
“I immediately stood up and confronted them,” Phil Leonard told Fox News. “I was the only one to stand up and confront them.”
Excerpt 2:
Leonard said one protester looked at him and told him: “Your existence is a disturbance to every marginalized person in this country.”
“You don’t know who you’re talking to,” he said he responded. “First of all, I’m a registered Democrat. I’ve never voted for a Republican in my life, and I’m here speaking for ideas which is what you’re supposed to do at a college.”
Excerpt 3:
"Leonard said the behavior particularly affected him because he’s Jewish, and he immediately connected the actions of the protesters – seeking to shut down free speech -- with the actions of the Nazis.

One of the posts from the UCSC FB page ID'd one of the hack-tavists as Haik Adamian. Can't properly link here, but a poster managed to grap their chanting ~TMOB
ReplyDelete"One of the ringleaders of the protest was student activist Haik Adamian, who posted an announcement in the official UCSC Student Facebook group calling on students to deny the CR group its First Amendment rights.
“White Supremacist, fascist sympathizing College Republicans are having a meeting at McHenry library, room 0332. Everybody be aware of this violent racist activity happening everyday on this campus!” he wrote, adding that “We need a movement of people on this campus that rejects the ‘right of assembly,’ or ‘right of free speech’ for white supremacists and fascists.”
--There you have it folks. These taxpayer funded zealots are willingly calling for the end of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These idiots have to be getting paid by some proxy as I cannot imagine they'd be so stupid as to promote-via hatred-the fall of our country. Using free speech to end it? Insanity.

Adding to my own post, also from the story:
ReplyDelete"One protester bolted from the room and started running up and down the library stairs shouting about “Nazis” and “white supremacists.”
“I didn’t know who that nutty chick was, but her fliers were all over the school, so when I said her name, she flipped out,” Leonard said. “She flipped out even more when I told her I voted for her [for the Student Union Assembly election]"
Well, that's enough info. It shouldn't be too difficult to find out who that is...just find an online voter guide of all the recent SU candidates. Or about any related Facebook page it seems. ~TMOB
OH who am I kidding? I found the guy with not much searching. I won't post the links as to cut off the free advertising for him but let's just say he's got some anti-US issues and proselytizes them, from anti-semetic and "Free Palestine" group affiliations, to Iranian support groups, to USCB "fight white fascism" groups (mission page: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nqirSIb_99lQD_jcUV1ZdgXGOGxzjH4EiZGaa1PH_t4/edit) and all sorts of thinly-veiled racist rants. I'm not sure the guy is even an US Citizen, yet here he is, pissing and moaning about how much he can't stand the US.
ReplyDeletePoor Andy. Maybe all this stuff and much more has always been going on there and I just didn't pay attention. The job that I thought he'd be going to isn't as calm as I'd thought. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteI like how the dummies refer to themselves as "marginalized". I couldn't agree more!
