Do you believe the state? The same lying, liberal career politicians getting rich and making sure the interests and wealth of rich Hollywood stars and tech CEOS is protected?

This was written before the recent wildfires.
"California has had its share of calamities in recent years: Drought, followed by massively heavy rains. Multiple secession movements. A sharp demographic and economic split between the wealthy coastal elites and rural inland dwellers. Soaring pension liabilities. The departure of thousands of the state's businesses.
But none of these have been as disastrous as California's self-inflicted fiscal wounds, which have made the state's finances not only highly volatile but threaten the state's very future as a center of innovation and technology.

Some people are so afraid of a/the reality that challenges the world they know right now.
ReplyDeleteWhatever problems involved, intelligent people try to bring up, the 'know nothings' turn away,
can't be bothered, can't be that bad.
One thing I do know: If pension costs aren't brought under control, the city and county (and such) will cut and cut and cut. Like going to the library? How about one day a week? Expect Leos to respond? What if there's money for only limited response? And all the work done by volunteer groups that rely on help from the county? Gone.
Read and weep, read and weep then read, get angry and find others to get together to make changes. Legal changes. Starting with better elected officials.
