Mayor Frank Jager given the Distinguished Citizen's Award by the Boy Scouts
City of Eureka Mayor Frank Jager is being honored at the Elks Lodge right now. The Boy Scouts chose Mayor Jager for this year's Distinguished Citizen's Award. Mayor Jager has been a volunteer for the BSA and a leader of Troop 54 since 1969.
My comment regarding Frank's involvement with the illegal purchases and sales of Estate Sales was not posted, my question is why? It is public knowledge.....do you only print things about people you don't like or are you a fair journalist and post all news John? And please do not take this question to heart it is a simple question to a journalist, not an accusation.
It was not printed because I get tons of comments and on an exceptionally busy day, some do not get published right away. It was also not published because you stated as fact something not yet confirmed by an independent investigation which is ongoing. LOCO's sensationalistic article selectively targeted people they do not like and their selection of picking out certain names for click bait does not make what they print fact. If LOCO is what you consider journalism or their spin as fact, then anything I say will not be the answer to your question.
When the investigation is over, if there is anything to report, I will decide whether it is worth covering. Don't take this as an accusation either but do you ask Lost Coast Outpost, North Coast Journal or other media why comments are not printed. Everyone moderates, everyone makes typos, every other media choses what to cover and what not to cover. For some reason, people think they can demand answers from me. I am one person, without a scanner, and several staff reporting multiple stories, scooping the other media 24/7. I dont have time to explain and indulge every curiosity of every passive, aggressive who couches a dig as a "simple question." In the future, if you feel the urge to waste my time, include your name and a check for $50 per question.
The Jager's are good people.
ReplyDeleteSome people like Frank but others don't trust him and I am not sure what to think.
