$300,000 bail for David Richard alleged child molestor

In mid August of 2017, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Detective Unit was notified by the Mendocino County Department of Child Protective Services that an 11 year-old female juvenile had made a disclosure of sexual abuse.


Detectives immediately initiated a criminal investigation into the disclosure and established probable cause that showed David John Richard had allegedly committed acts of sexual abuse on the female juvenile on a continuous basis for several months when she was 7 to 8 years-old.

On 09-08-2017 Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Richard, subsequently locating him and arresting him without incident.

Richard was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $300,000.00 bail.
