If conditional release for sexually violent predator Richard Stobaugh is denied tomorrow or more conditions are placed on his release by Judge Kaleb Cockrum or an alternative placement is ordered by Judge Kaleb Cockrum, Humboldt Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm deserves thanks. These are photos I took from today's court hearing. The exhibit Ms. Timm has in her hand in one photo is one of several exhibits Ms. Timm questioned Coalinga Officer Hill Magpayo about as Stobaugh listened in and took notes. Someone else who also deserves gratitude is Humboldt DA Chief Investigator Kyla Baxley. I feel blessed to know these two strong, dedicated women who advocate and stand up for survivors every day. I have covered many court cases and trials which includes many molestation, rape and other cases involving women and children. Many of these cases were not covered by any other media. For 11 years, I watched the countless hours and effort Ms. Timm and Ms. Baxley put in to keep Humboldt safe. They could go anywhere. They choose Humboldt.
