Kevin Burks succumbs to injuries sustained during OIS in Cutten

HCSO issued an update this afternoon to OIS involving an incident where a man shot a 75 year old woman in front of her sister and fled the scene.

Update:

On 05/03/2024 at approximately 1520 hours, Kevin Jeffrey Burks (DOB 06/30/1991) succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the critical incident which occurred on 04/25/2024 in the Cutten area of Eureka. More information will be made available once a forensic autopsy is completed, which is anticipated to occur by the end of this week.

This case is still under investigation by the Humboldt County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).

A search on google brings up only this picture and information about a Kevin Burks in Humboldt. 

There was also a Kevin J. Burks who was employed with Redwood Coast Energy Authority according to Transparent California.

People speculate anonymously online about the same searches posted in this post. A week later, social media and other information could have been scrubbed or deleted because very little information is available. Maybe body cam footage if released will provide more information.
