The Superior Court of Humboldt County will celebrate Juror Appreciation Week, May 13–17, to recognize the service and participation of jurors from our community.
Recognition for jurors during the second week in May was established by a special resolution passed by the California Legislature in 1998 to acknowledge the important contributions of citizens who devote their time and effort in “making the cherished right of trial by jury a reality.” Each year, the Superior Court of Humboldt County and the Judicial Council of California team up to recognize the millions of Californians who answer the call to serve their communities and put into practice the fundamental American ideal of trial by jury.
All week, we will be celebrating jurors and their important contributions to our community with additional snacks and food in the Jury Assembly Room (825 Fifth Street, Room G03, Eureka) as well as jury-themed games and activities. The public is welcome to stop by even if they are not on active Jury Service. The Humboldt Superior Court is dedicated to improving jury service. Please let us know what we can do to make jury service as easy as possible for you, the jurors.
