The District Attorney's office has charged Frederick Breckenridge with PC 422 criminal threats, PC 76 (a) threatening a public official and PC 653 (m) (a) annoying phone calls. Alleged victim is First District Supervisor Rex Bohn.
Breckenridge is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon. Breckenridge is on the must go list today and if he is not arraigned today, he will be released from custody.
Will Rex show up this afternoon to antagonize Breckenridge and cause a disruption in court? Arraignment may already be a circus thanks to Breckenridge. Rex wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to hi five deputies, deputy district attorneys and flex on the second floor. I am sure one of his courthouse gossip shills or other sycophants will inform of this post, then attack me anonymously. It is not like the County is facing any issues so if Rex does waste an afternoon on taxpayer dime sitting in court for information that court minutes cover, remember that next time he and his grovelers brag about being the hardest working Supervisor.
As entertaining and unpredictable Breckenridge's arraignment maybe this afternoon, if it even proceeds and is not continued, those details can be updated later or even tomorrow. Breckenridge could refuse to come to court, he could go off on a rant, especially if Rex is in court. I am pretty sure the DA's office will ask for a change to no bail status. Will Breckenridge's court appointed attorney be able to declare doubt today?
Breckenridge was arraigned, Public Defender appointed, bail reduced to $25,000 by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. OR bail on 5/16; preliminary hearing on 5/22. Criminal protective order was filed and served.
These court documents contain public information such as dob which can be found in jail logs and other court records.
Previous coverage has a lot of detail including the two TROs filed against Breckenridge, one by First District Supervisor Rex Bohn and another by College of the Redwoods President Keith Flamer. Both are scheduled for different days this month and updates will be added to this post.
5/16: in his criminal case, Deputy Public Defender David Celli told Judge Kaleb Cockrum that "given the allegations" he advised Breckenridge to waive OR bail hearing without prejudice until after preliminary hearing which is scheduled for 5/22.
Lori Pearce was on Zoom. She is his ex, and has a child with him. Two other women were in court and after the hearing, they were talking about not recognizing Breckenridge, hoping his sister would not bail him out and something about him painting and some confusion about whether one of them rented him a room which she denied.
