40 year old John Quinton Provolt was arrested yesterday by HCSO on a Ramey warrant for PC 288(a) lewd or lascivious acts with a minor , PC 288(b)(1)lewd act with a minor by force or fear, PC 269(a)(1) aggravated sexual assault of a child if the rape is on a child under 14 years old and at least seven years younger than the alleged perpetrator and PC 288.5(a) continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. Provolt just resolved an indecent exposure case. He is Yurok Tribe Councilmember Sherri Provolt's son. Bail is $400,000. Provolt posted bond.
This is the main reason I did not add documents mentioning Provolt's children in the recent post I did about Provolt's family law case.
I received a lot of tips, information about John Provolt and other tribal leaders I have reported on such as Raymond Bacon and Javier Kinney. Without being able to verify that information,
There are some Facebook posts in my previous coverage from his Chelsey Dowd formerly Chelsey Provolt in his family law case I wrote about and an anonymous post to tribal leaders mentioning sexual abuse.
Some people referred to CAST interviews or interviews not beig done and lack of prosecution but CAST documents are not included in the e court system and files like other court records due to the sensitivity and such claims were not provided with any evidence to back them up.
