Report from Dr. Wilson was scheduled today for Jacquelyn Bradley, the woman who allegedly broke into EPD officer Eddie Wilson's house. She has two other cases. At the last hearing, her attorney Andrea Sullivan, declared "doubt" about Bradley's mental competence to stand trial. Criminal proceedings were suspended. Bradley is in custody.
Dr. Wilson evaluated Bradley and found her incompetent to stand trial. Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward and Ms.Sullivan submitted on the report.
Judge Timothy Canning referred the case to Humboldt County Mental Health for medication recommendation and CONREP for placement. Next hearing is scheduled for November 20.
Ms. Sullivan told Judge Timothy Canning that she plans to file a 1000.36 petition. "She clearly qualifies and would greatly benefit from mental health diversion," said Ms. Sullivan.
"While it is a violent felony, there are unusual facts. She is suited for placement in the community during competency restoration."
"We are not agreeing to that at this time," said Mr. Steward. Judge Canning granted Ms. Sullivan's request that CONREP consider community placement for Bradley.
After court, Ms. Sullivan elaborated on her remarks in court. Bradley is charged with burglary. "She is alleged to have run into the house, grabbed two steak knives" and then she crouched into a corner. "They are trying to turn this into a burglary."

Crazy is as crazy does. But, she is kind of cute. Hope she gets her help, cowering in the corner with knives, poor thing is scared, and crazy.
