DA wants to amend Mark Dare charges to include "one strike law"

Alleged molestor Mark Dare's jury trial was scheduled for October 28. Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer filed a motion yesterday to amend the complaint.

Ruling on that motion was scheduled this morning; it was continued to trial assignment tomorrow. Dare is represented by Public Defender Marek Reavis. Today, Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo appeared in court for Dare.

Judge Christopher Wilson cited a recent opinion from August 28 that stated that even without notice, if there is sufficient evidence from the pleadings, that allegation can be added. Judge Wilson suggested Ms. Schaffer amend her motion.
