Eureka's request for a Community Resource Center ignored by PG & E

Yesterday, when I called the 24 hour media hotline to ask if a Community Resource Center would be open in Eureka, I was told to call customer service. They won't even tell the City of Eureka if one will be open. PG & E's 3:24 p.m. update today says 8 p.m. for Humboldt.

There is still no community resource center listed for Eureka in that latest update. The City of Eureka arranged for the Muni to be open for Eureka residents.

I am only including new information from the recent City of Eureka press release:

"The City of Eureka, Eureka Police Department and Humboldt Bay Fire continue to prepare for the shutdown of PG& E power to Humboldt County.  It is expected that the City and surrounding area will begin losing power on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 7 PM however the times have changed several times throughout the day, so residents should be prepared for the power to shut down at anytime.  The weather wind event is now expected to begin at 8 PM on Saturday and the power shut off will occur prior to the start of the weather event.  The weather event was intially expected to last until Monday, October 28th at 2 PM, we will keep you posted as the event progresses.  "

"Eureka has requested that PG&E open a Community Resource Center in the Eureka area on Sunday.  At this time a location has not been announced by PG&E. "
